Asian Carp Cooked 3 Ways
We sat down with
North American Caviar, Inc.
to talk about the invasive species called Asian Carp. This fish is known to multiply extremely fast and can wipe out game fish populations. This causes problems both economically and environmentally. What most people don't know is that Asian Carp is actually delicious to eat! Most people hear the word carp and assume it isn't any good but it is quite the opposite. We came up with 3 delicious recipes that anyone can cook at home!

Asian Carp Tacos (5:37 - 8:44)
1 Cup AP Flour
1 - 16oz Beer
1 Lb Asian Carp Strips
Cilantro Cream Sauce - 1/2 cup mayo, 1/2 cup sour cream, 1/2 of fresh lime juice, fresh chopped cilantro, salt, pepper, cumin.
Blackened Asian Carp with Lemon Garlic Cream Sauce (8:44 - 12:26)
For the sauce:
2 Tbsp butter
2 Tbsp AP flour
1.5-2 cups of cream or half/half
1 clove of garlic
1/2 cup parmesan cheese
Blackened seasoning:
3 Tbsp Smoked Paprika
1 Tbsp Cayenne Powder
1 Tbsp Onion Powder
1 Tbsp Black Pepper
1 Tsp Garlic Powder
1 Tsp Kosher Salt
1 Tsp Dried Thyme
1 Tsp Dried Basil
1 Tsp Dried Oregano
