Preview New Inn At Paris Landing State Park

TDEC Releases New Renderings for Paris Landing Inn
Buchanan, Tenn.- The Tennessee Department of Environment and Conservation (TDEC) today released renderings for the new inn, restaurant and conference center at Paris Landing State Park.
“This design maintains the signature feel of Paris Landing and its home on the shores of Kentucky Lake,” said TDEC Deputy Commissioner Brock Hill. “This investment into our park is part of a broader revitalization of Tennessee’s state park system and will provide an overall superior visitor experience for tourists and locals alike.”
The early design phase was approved by the State Building Commission on July 12. Highlights include gathering space in the over sized lobby for guests, visitors and local residents; larger meeting and conference space; and a diversified room mix including suites and family rooms to meet customer demands.
“The new facility will create a space that the people of Henry and Stewart Counties, and to a greater extent Tennessee, will be proud of for years to come,” said Goodwyn Mills Cawood’s Architect Patrick Neuber. “Our goal for this project is to create something that speaks to the unique nature of Paris Landing State Park and showcases the special views of Kentucky Lake. Creating a sense of place will help this facility meet the needs of locals and draw tourists to continue to allow the park to have a positive influence on the local economy.”
The building design accentuates the picturesque waterfront views of Kentucky Lake while supporting the park’s marina activities. Its proximity and central location to other park features will allow guests to maximize their stay and take advantage of all the amenities the park has to offer.
"After viewing the rendering drawings, I was convinced that the citizens of the 75th district will be pleased with the new inn,” said Rep. Tim Wirgau, R-Buchanan. “One of my top priorities is having the inn finished on time. I believe that the stakeholders involved realize the importance of this, including Doster Construction. They’ll give local contractors every opportunity to have a fair shot at working on this project, ensuring it’s done right and giving the inn a local look and feel."
“I am very excited to be a part of the Paris Landing inn project,” said Dustin Crouch with Doster. “I grew up just down the highway from the inn and spent many summer days out on the lake and around the park. It means so much to me to be able to come back home and build something at the lake for everyone to enjoy for years to come. Paris Landing State Park and the surrounding areas are important to me, my family and the community, and I will be reaching out to local contractors to get as many local companies involved in the project as possible.”
The $26 million facility is expected to generate approximately 35% more annually than the previous structure in sales and occupancy taxes, serving as a catalyst for regional economic growth and prosperity.
The current inn will close in August 2018 with the new facility expected to open in the summer of 2020. Doster will host an outreach event for subcontractors interested in the project at the park on July 24 from 4:30-6 p.m.
