The Paris-Henry County Heritage Center is a non-profit, local history museum located in Paris, Tennessee. It houses and displays local history dating back to the early years of Paris and the county. Paris is the oldest city in West Tennessee and has a rich past and has always served as a hub for shopping, banking and cultural events. The Center is located in the former home and mansion of O.C.
Barton and it is named Cavitt Place. O.C Barton was a highly successful businessman at the turn of the Century when the Industrial Revolution that prompted an evolution of lifestyle changed the way people lived. For the wealth and success of the great entrepreneurs of the day, this period was aptly given the name of The Gilded Age. Cavitt Place is located on historic Poplar Street that is lined with well -maintained palatial homes of a variety of architectural styles, beautiful craftsman construction and beautiful lines and detail grace these handsome homes.

Take a stroll down North Poplar Street leading off the Courthouse square.  We're minutes away on foot. We are open Thursday through Sunday 10-4 and on Sunday 1-4. We look forward to your visit!

Great special occasions start here. Our facility is available for you to rent for your next special occasion any time and any day of the week, we can accommodate.

The mission of the Heritage Center is to help the diverse community of Henry County, Tennessee, better understand its past. The center collects, preserves and interprets historic artifacts, documents, photographs and other materials. The museum educates the public through exhibits, programs, publications, technology, oral history and other activities.
