The World's Biggest Fish Fry is another casualty of the COVID-19 outbreak.
The board of directors of the Fish Fry announced Wednesday afternoon that the rest of this year's event has been canceled.
A press release from the executive board reads:
"In light of the announcement (Tuesday) by Governor (Bill) Lee of schools remaining closed until April 24, 2020 the WBFF, Inc Board of Directors met and decided that it is of the best interest of the citizens of Paris and Henry County that we cancel the remaining events, April 18-25 of the 67th Annual World’s Biggest Fish Fry.
"We feel that the safety and the ease of mind of the citizens are more important than having the event. We appreciate the support we get each year from this community, across our great state of Tennessee and our Country.
"We look forward to the 68th Annual World’s Biggest Fish Fry in April 2021. Be safe and may God Bless each of you and our great Country!
The WBFF, Inc. Executive Board includes Chris Martin, Tim Wirgau, Monte Starks, Dwayne Baldwin, Albert Vassar, Josh Taylor, Lisa Dicus and Loria Plunk.
This year's Fish Fry pageants had already been conducted in January.
