Chamber Prepping for "The Moving Wall" At Eiffel Tower Park
Paris, Tenn.- The Paris Henry County Chamber of Commerce will be bringing “The Moving Wall” a Vietnam Veterans Memorial to Paris for Labor Day Weekend.
The Moving Wall will be on display at Eiffel Tower Park, available 24 hours a day from 1pm Thursday August 31st until 1pm Monday September 4th. There is an opening ceremony at 5pm August 31st and a closing ceremony at Noon September 4th. The exhibit and ceremonies are open to the public.
Local Veterans organizations, National Guard Members, and community members will serve as volunteers.
Chamber Executive Director Mark Johnson said, “this will be a very moving and fulfilling event which will offer our community an experience that many otherwise would never have. We’re excited about the educational value it will bring to our youth.”
The Paris Henry County Chamber of Commerce has helped to organize and fund the event, but couldn’t do it without help from volunteers from our veterans and military organizations in the community and region. Johnson said it takes a large volunteer effort and anyone interested in volunteering can call the Chamber at 642-3431 no later than August 15th.
