Wounded Warrior Bass Tournament

What a day!

Early morning line of soldier boats
waiting to launch.
If you didn't make it out to Paris Landing State Park Saturday for the Wounded Warrior Bass Tournament - you really missed a special event.

There were 42 soldiers participating plus about 35 others.  It was a great turn out for their first time at Paris Landing.

Cindy Rice holds a flag while waiting for the blast off.

Just before blast off there was a prayer and the national anthem was sung.  You could have heard a pin drop - it was so moving folks were actually crying.

Anne Cullen and her grandsons pass out flags.

Waiting for blast off.
And they are off!!

In the meantime ... on the other side of the park - there were all sorts of family activites.

A fishing rodeo.

The guys from the U.S. Coast Guard Cimmarron helped.  And there were trophies for everyone who fished in the Junior Fishing Rodeo.  Now that's my kind of tournament!

Crafts, food and other activities were provided by Lowes and some other local heroes.

And then it got down to some serious business.  The business of who caught what.

Soldiers received curb service.
What a beautiful fish, this 7 lb fish made quite a stir!!

It was quite a day!

We're so proud they came to play with us at Paris Landing!

There were several hundred photos taken on Saturday.  Far too many photos to publish here.  If you want to see more, please go to
