A Gentle Reminder

Just a gentle reminder that PLTL annual fees are due in July.

If you haven’t yet paid – please consider that your fees are used to support tourist activities and our website. Considering we are in a pandemic, in June 2020 we still had over 1000 visitors to this website. Tourists and out of town guests visit the website to help plan their visits to our area.

Judging by the traffic the last couple of weekends, Paris Landing is still a great place to visit and we have plenty of room for social distancing.  And even though we’ve had a lot of events cancel – we still have the lake, fishing, swimming and boating.  We are hoping these events will happen next year when Covid-19 is under control. So maybe right now, more than ever, is the time to keep our names and your business names out there showing support for the Paris Landing area.

Your annual $100 business fee includes advertising as described at http://visitparislanding.blogspot.com/p/about.html

Individual fees of $25 or $50 for a family include having your name listed as a supporter.

Click here for an application form.

Please print and mail application to:

160 Shady Hill Drive, Buchanan, TN 38222

Thank you for your support.

We can’t do this without you.

Ready For Her Closeup

From The Paris PI
Cleo, a red-tailed hawk, is introduced to her waiting public Saturday morning by Hannah Bauman, interpretive ranger at Paris Landing State Park. Cleo has been recuperating at the park’s aviary since flying into a power line about a year-and-a-half ago. Cleo helped Bauman with a presentation on the history of falconry — the medieval practice of hunting with birds of prey. The park is a licensed rehabilitation center for wounded birds of prey, and accepts donations of cash and even fresh roadkill to keep up the animal’s care and feeding. In addition to Cleo and another red-tailed hawk, the park is currently home to recovering birds including barred owls, great horned owls and a kestrel.

If You Can't Beat Em, Eat Em!

We don't usually offer recipes here, but - here we go.

Asian Carp Cooked 3 Ways
We sat down with
North American Caviar, Inc.
to talk about the invasive species called Asian Carp. This fish is known to multiply extremely fast and can wipe out game fish populations. This causes problems both economically and environmentally.
What most people don't know is that Asian Carp is actually delicious to eat! Most people hear the word carp and assume it isn't any good but it is quite the opposite. We came up with 3 delicious recipes that anyone can cook at home!
Be sure to like us on Facebook, Follow on Instagram, and Subscribe to our Youtube channel to catch the next video!
Let us know in the comments what we should cook next!
Asian Carp Tacos (5:37 - 8:44)
