Noon On Square Starts This Friday

Noon On The Square starts this Friday on Courthouse Square in downtown Paris, Tennessee.
This is one of the coolest things about small town-living in Paris.  Every Friday in September at 11:00 folks bring a lawn chair and gather under the shade trees to listen to music, eat and hang out with friends, neighbors and other acquaintances.

Noon On The Square Line-Up Announced
By Shannon McFarlin WENK/WTPR News Director
Paris, Tenn.-Yes, it’s that time of year already. Time for a local favorite—the month-long Noon on the Square festivities in downtown Paris. And this year there will be some changes.

The annual event is held each Friday through September—and this year there are five Fridays--and is sponsored by Commercial Bank & Trust and features live musical entertainment, good food and fellowship. The event is held on the court square.

Bank Senior Vice President Clint Davis said the times for the entertainment have been expanded this year by an hour and will be held from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. each Friday.

Lunch is available for purchase and the Downtown Paris Association provides drinks. Henry County Medical Center also will provide free blood pressure checks.

This year’s line up is:

  • Friday, September 2: Music by The Local Strangers. Perry’s BBQ will provide lunch.
  • Friday, September 9: Music by The Legends, a country band. Lunch will be available from Cash’s Pizza to support the Paris Quota Club’s projects.
  • Friday, September 16: Music by The Ray Lewis Band with a variety of country, classic rock and blues. This also will be the Friday that the Boss Hoss Motorcycle parade comes through downtown Paris. Perry’s BBQ will provide lunch.
  • Friday, September 23: Music by The Chill Tonics and Perry’s BBQ will provide lunch.
  • Friday, September 30: Music from John Austin McDaniel with his original tunes and country classics. Cash’s Pizza will be providing lunch to support Quota.

Photo Contest - What Happened To The Fish???

We've been running our photo contest for over a year.  We've seen lots of cool photos of boats, birds, deer, dogs, kids, sunsets, clouds, fireworks, foxes, muscles, motorcycles, fall leaves, really strange rock formations, flowers, cannons, The Bridge,  fun loving people with big red noses and only one photo of a fish.  A little bitty fish being held by a really cute little girl.  Check out all of last year's photo contest entries here.

What happened to the fish photos?  We would love to see your photos of your catch of the day, that spread of Crappie you caught or anything else. Photos of local fishing contests would be great too!

Need more ideas for the photo contest?  How about  picnics, folks on jet skis, nature trail walks, wildlife, people having fun, sports activities, flora and fauna, clouds, landscapes, sunrises, sunsets, flags around the lake.  Any kind of photo showing just how cool and wonderful it is at Paris Landing on Kentucky Lake.

Anyone can enter our photo contest.  You just have to attach your photo in the message box on our Facebook page at:  https://www.facebook.com/pages/Paris-Landing-Tourism-League/305712731432

We have weekly winners, then monthly winners, then an annual winner.

Rules? Yes!  We have rules.  You can read them at:  http://visitparislanding.blogspot.com/search/label/Photo%20Contest%20Rules

Hope you will send us your photos!
