Costa Bassmaster High School National Championship Winners

MCKENZIE, Tenn. — From start to finish Alex Heintze and Justin Watts held the lead at the Costa Bassmaster High School National Championship presented by TNT Fireworks.
Today, the Livingston Parish Bassmasters added a third consecutive 20-plus-pound catch and made the win official. After three days on Kentucky Lake the teenagers caught 66 pounds to win high school bass fishing’s most elite tournament. Their winning total included daily 5-bass limits weighing 20-10, 23-14 and 22-2.

Costa Bassmaster High School National Championship

Rain Delays Day 2 Of Bassmaster High School Tourney
Buchanan, Tenn.-With heavy rainfall this morning, the start of today’s competition of the 2015 Costa Bassmaster High School National Championship at Paris Landing State Park was delayed by 90 minutes.
The tournament began Wednesday and Alex Heintze and Justin Watts of the Livingston Parish in Louisiana took the Day 1 lead in the championship with 20 pounds, 10 ounces.
A total of 142 teams from all over the country are competing in the high school tournament, with 28 more signed up for the Junior Championship which begins later this week. The teams hail from 37 of the 50 states.
Teams are competing for $75,000 in scholarships and prizes.

Catch of the Day

Haven't heard yet who won the ABA Couples Tournament this weekend at Paris Landing, but David and Sharon Seaton of the Fishtale Lodge certainly should have won a prize for the craziest photo.

Paris Landing Sprint Triathlon Held Saturday Morning
Buchanan, Tenn. - The sun was shining and humidity high, as well as spirits for the Start 2 Finish Paris Landing Sprint Tri on Saturday morning.
The race began promptly at 7 a.m. as the participants took to the water to complete the 500 meter distance.
The triathlon had 278 participants in total, with 264 finishers.
The award for Male Overall went to Fred Hatler with a time of 1:02:17.36. Dale Sanford took 2nd place and David Piercey took 3rd place.
First place for Female Overall went to Kirsten Sass, with a time of 1:01:17.76. Robyn Winkler took 2nd place and Andrea Miller took 3rd.
Male Master was awarded to Justin Schroeder. Female Master was awarded to Jeanine Watts.
Clydesdale (Male 220 lbs.) to Kyle Lock, 2nd place to John Varnick and 3rd to Cliff Marion. Athena (Female 220 lbs.) to Sarah Burlee, 2nd place to Robyn Sharp, and 3rd place to Lisa Piercey.
The Male Relay 1st Place went to Harrison Ewing, Jon Ewing and James Meyers. Female Relay, Amy Ferguson and Donna Hahs. Mixed Relay to Rachel Wheaton, Lawrence Mize, and Claire Hollis.
In the Male age group 10-14, Cole Davis took first place. In the Female age group 10-14, Emma Hill took first place.
Male age group 15-19, 1st Place went to Gabriel Fuhrman, 2nd to Kyle McClain and 3rd to Jack Nichols. Female age group 15-19, 1st place was awarded to Rachel Northcutt, 2nd place to Natalie Stookey, and 3rd place to Jodi Capps.
In the Male age group 20-24, Bryce Thompson took 1st place, Zachary Allen took 2nd and Evan Curran took 3rd. In the Female age group 20-24, Rachel Ness took 1st place, Allison Wade, 2nd and Taylor Schomp, 3rd.
In the Male age group 25-29, Michael Farrar took first place. Cody West was awarded 2nd and Jed Henry, 3rd. In the Female age group 25-29, Kary Lucas took 1st place, Brooklyn Goodell took 2nd and Ismayra Santiago took 3rd.
Male age group 30-34, Christopher Weber took 1st place and for Female age group 30-34, Jennifer Deluzio took 1st. 2nd places went to Justin Menees and Angela Clark.
First place for Male and Female age group 35-39, were awarded to Steven Gill and Tami Winston. Jeremy Skinner and Casey Jenkins took 2nd place and Nathan Hale and Paula Chilton took 3rd.
Male age group 40-44 1st place went to Jon Tate. 2nd to Wesley Medlin, and third to Dusty Gibson. Lisa Boysen took 1st place in the Female age group 40-44, Weslee Hill took 2nd and Katie Coffman, third.
Male age group 50-54 winner was David Hatler, 2nd place Neel Gammill and 3rd place, Bill McCord. Female age group 50-54 1st place winner was awarded to Kirsten Ness, 2nd place to Tonia Jackson, and 3rd place to Kelly Knott.
Male age group 55-59 winner was awarded to Murray Scott, 2nd place to Jimmy Crossett and 3rd place to Greg Clark. Female age group 55-59 winner was Pam Routh. Suzanne McLemore took 2nd place and Gerry Wartenberg took 3rd place.
Stephen Schmidt took 1st place in the Male age group 60-64, Gwin Anderson took 2nd place and Bruce Coleman took 3rd. Ruth Johnson took 1st place in the Female agegroup 60-64, Faye Austin took 2nd place and Stephanie Haake, 3rd.
In the Male age group 65-98, Tomas De Paulis took 1st place. Wayne Conley took 2nd and Ronald Wright took 3rd.

Kentucky Lake Water Fun Run

The Paris Henry County Chamber of Commerce will hold its annual Water Fun Run on Saturday July 18th. This year's theme is "That's the Way I Lake it."
Registration packets and souvenir t-shirts are available at the Chamber Office, located at 2508 East Wood Street. T-shirts are $12.  Players pay $20 or $25 the day of the Water Run, to collect stamps at the area resorts. Five stops are required and cards will be dealt based on the number of stamps collected so players are encouraged to stop at all the stops and collect stamps. The best hand dealt at 2pm, 3pm, and 4pm will each win $500.
Two "Fun Run Pontoons" will travel the waters of Kentucky Lake during the day and allow players to collect an extra stamp.
All watercraft are invited to participate. Players must be checked in the dock at the marina at Paris Landing State Park by 4pm on the day of the event, but the two extra playing times are available at 2pm and 3pm.
Sponsoring resorts this year include Fat Daddy's, Mansard Island Resort, Buchanan Resort, Pleasant View Resort, Cypress Springs, Pairs Landing State Park, Leatherwood Resort, Breakers Marina, and Cypress Bay Resort.
