Paris Landing State Park Hosts 1st Hike
Jan 01 @ Paris Landing State Park
Meet up with Ranger Rebecca Davenport at the Paris Landing State Park Hotel lobby for the parks first hike of the New Year! We will take the picnic loop along the widest point of Kentucky lake. There will be two hikes; the first is at 12 pm & the second at 2 pm. We will learn all about the history of the lake, the creation of Paris Landing State Park, and watch for the various waterfowl that migrate to this area every winter. Warm clothes, sturdy shoes, and water are a must, the hike is considered easy and the trail is paved. After the hike, the park will provide a campfire with s’mores! Dress in layers since it can be very cold when hiking by the lakefront! To reserve your spot please call the park office at 1-731-641-4465 or the hotel at 1-731-641-4440.  Visit Paris Landing State Park’s website at http://tnstateparks.com/parks/about/paris-landing

Dec 2, 2013

December at the Lake is an unusual time.  On the lake - most of the time - it's incredibly quiet.  There aren't many people here and the wildlife start to move back in and reclaim their territory.  The air is crisp, clean, clear and you can hear things you never noticed before way off in the distance.  It's a great time for walking on the beach, feeling the sun on your face, picking up unusual rocks, and seeing how far you can skip stones over the glassy, smooth water.

And just like everywhere else ...we're getting ready for Christmas so we've still got lots going on.  Please check our event schedule for Paris Landing and Paris at http://parislanding.org/
