Flip Flops and Bikini Tops” is the theme of the Paris-Henry County Chamber of Commerce’s annual Water Fun Run, scheduled for Saturday, July 21st on Kentucky Lake. Sponsoring resorts include Fat Daddy’s, Breakers Marina, Mansard Island Resort, Buchanan Resort, Pleasant View Resort/Redneck Island, Paris Landing State Park Marina, Leatherwood Resort and Cypress Bay Resort.
Players pay $25 to collect stamps at the area resorts. Five stops are required, but up to eight are available. Cards will be dealt at the end based on the number of stamps collected. The best hand will win $1000 cash.
Two “Fun Run Pontoons,” will be traveling the water during the day. Look for one and collect an extra stamp. Only one extra stamp may be collected from a Fun Run Pontoon. One extra stamp will also be available at the end for $10.
All watercraft are invited to participate. All players must be checked in the dock at the marina at Paris Landing State Park by 4 pm on July 21st.
It’s not too late to enter the Sealy Outdoors - McDonald’s Big Bass Splash Fishing Tournament August 18th and 19th out of Paris Landing State Park.

Angier, North Carolina pro angler Monica Altman pulled in a 17.91-pound five-bass limit from Kentucky Lake to claim a classic come from behind victory in the 2012 Lady Bass Anglers Association Larry Shaffer Memorial Tournament today. Her bag of fish included what would turn out to be the pro angler division Legend Big Bass Award winner weighing in at 6.32-pounds. Altman’s two-day tournament total was 30.13-pounds. Read more here.
